Fun, multi-sensory, and child-centered approach of learning English phonics, grammar, and speaking. Small, semi-private lessons that utilize the Jolly Phonics and Cambridge Curriculum from the UK.

Pre-K to K
3 to 5 years old

Interactive Jolly Phonics Lesson

Children will learn all of the 42 English sounds through actions, songs, stories, and book activities such as writing, coloring, and stickers! Students have the opportunity to learn English in a fun and interactive way through moving their bodies, and using their imagination.

Cambridge ESL Lesson

Using the Cambridge Primary Curriculum framework, this cohesive course develops reading, writing, speaking and listening skills with fun real-life conversation practice and topic-based book activities.

Private English Lesson

A more personalized learning with individualized course for improving speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Curriculum can be a mix of Cambridge ESL course and student's English subject at school covering homework, remedial, test preparation, and other specified goals.

Located in a quaint room, our space allows personalized attention and meaningful interactions between students and the instructor.Right from the comfort of our home to yours. Hello everyone! I am teacher Sam and I have been teaching children for 7 years now. I firmly believe that effective and long-term learning can be fun through experiential, positive guidance, and child-based approaches.I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and adept training with Jolly Phonics Curriculum UK. I have taught in different places such as the Philippines, Okinawa, Tochigi, and now, in Ibaraki. With the love of teaching, we opened a room in our apartment for afternoon lessons in Tsukuba to help more children love and enjoy English learning.Outside teaching, I love immersing myself in photography, yoga, and travel.

Jolly Phonics Curriculum

Jolly Phonics teaches literacy stages thoroughly and enjoyably through the primary/elementary years at school. In the first stage the letter sounds are taught in a fun, multisensory way. Each sound is taught with an action, which helps children remember the letter(s) that represent it.The five basic skills for reading and writing are:
1. Learning the letter sounds
2. Learning letter formation
3. Blending
4. Identifying sounds in words
5. Spelling the tricky wordsThis lesson will use Jolly learning resources such as Big Finger Phonics Book, Workbook, Sticker Book, and Practice Book.

Collins Cambridge International Primary English

Divided into six stages, Cambridge Primary English as a Second Language curriculum framework covers knowledge, skills and understanding in five strands: Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening, and Speaking.The Workbooks offer a range of reading, writing and grammar activities for students of varying language levels to consolidate the language learned in the Student's Books. Following the same topic based units as the Student's Books, they provide further practice and extension material for learners of all levels.
